Directions to prepare for a pool opening with Premier Pool & Spa
Please have the water level in your pool filled to the middle of the square/rectangle skimmer opening before we arrive!
Auto Covers:
Please have your auto cover pump running and continuously pumping any water off the cover to have it ready for the opening. We do not reschedule work for rain, if it is raining on your pool opening day, please have the auto cover pump running to keep the cover free from water or leave the auto cover open the morning of the opening. Please remove any heavy debris from the cover as cover cleaning is not included (unless you are in the Just Swim program and have paid for the cover cleaning service). If auto cover is not pumped off we will pump off for an additional service charge. Provide us with your cover code or leave key in the control box.
Mesh or water bag covers:
Please remove the cover before the service technicians arrive, unless you paid to have us remove it.
If you paid us to remove the mesh cover please have the mesh cover storage bag available and let us know where you would like it moved to after opening. We would recommend having it outside a building for a day or two after the pool opening to allow the cover to dry out if your storage area doesn’t have great ventilation.
Locate your pool supplies: If Premier Pool & Spa closed the pool there should be a blue bag or other container with your pool baskets, jets, fountains, etc. in it stored somewhere on your property. Please have these near the pool or equipment so the techs can find them and reuse them. If these items are worn out from age or missing, they will be replaced and you will be charged accordingly. Example below, your items may differ.
If you have Cartridge or D.E. filters, please have them next to your pool equipment for us to install for you. Example below, your filters may differ or you may have a sand filter.
During the opening season, we do not provide ETA’s. The technicians are extremely busy and route their schedules as efficiently as they can each morning based upon drive time. No one needs to be home for our services.
If there is an access code (gate, garage, etc.) needed for the technicians to gain access to the pool or equipment, please provide that information at the time of scheduling.
If you have protective pets and are not home, please keep them indoors until the technicians have completed their service.
Please understand that major repairs are not able to be done during the opening. If there are major repairs that you would like us to take care of for you please call and schedule a time so we can give your issues the time and care that are needed. If you know there will be repairs needed, we would like to know ahead of time so we can assign the proper tech and the proper time can be allotted. Most major repairs are typically done by a single tech rather than the two techs on an opening, this work will be performed and billed separately from the opening. We strongly recommend waiting until the pool has had time to circulate (12 hours) before adding any pool chemicals on opening.
