Premier Pool & Spa has developed these minimum requirements to ensure our Just Swim customer's pools are ready to use all summer long. If the pool does not meet these requirements, we will provide quote(s) to update the pool to meet these requirements. If the updates are not completed the pool will unfortunately not be eligible for the Just Swim program. In this case we have Optional Alternative Programs* below.
1. Pool Type & Automation
- Pool Sanitation Method: The pool must be either:
- A saltwater pool, or
- Equipped with a liquid chlorine feeder with Sense & Dispense automation.
- Automation Systems:
- Jandy Salt System: If the pool uses a Jandy salt system, the remote control must be located outside in a designated area for every visit, or the customer must have iAquaLink set up so we can adjust settings through the iAquaLink app.
- Other Automation Systems: If the pool has any other automation system connected online with an app, Premier must always have login credentials for the system to ensure access for maintenance.
2. Filtration System
- The pool must have a filtration system that is adequate for the pool size, with the following minimum requirements:
- Cartridge Filters: 1 sq. ft. of filtration for every 70 gallons of water.
- Sand Filters: 1 sq. ft. of filtration for every 1,000 gallons of water.
- DE Filters: Only cartridge-style DE filters (not grid-style) are acceptable, and must provide 1 sq. ft. of filtration for every 300 gallons of water.
3. Pump Requirements
- The pump must be fully operational and appropriately sized for the pool. An oversized or undersized pump will affect filtration and water quality:
- Example: Sand filters require the correct GPM (gallons per minute). If the pump is too powerful (e.g., 1.5 HP for most pools), it may push debris past the sand or cause channeling, reducing filtration efficiency.
4. Plumbing System
- All plumbing between the suction and return headers must be 2 inch piping to ensure efficient water flow and equipment operation.
5. Liner Condition
- The pool liner must be in good condition. Liners that are more than 12 years old must be replaced, as aging liners may lead to leaks and increased maintenance issues.
6. Leak-Free Requirement
- The pool must be leak-free. Leaks cause loss of chemicals, salt, and water, resulting in more frequent follow-ups. Customers are allocated a maximum of 10 bags of salt per season. Any additional salt due to leaks will incur extra charges.
7. Water Chemistry
- The pool’s Cyanuric Acid (CYA) level must be 50 ppm or below at the start of the season.
- Premier will test the CYA level at the start of the season. If it is above 50 ppm, a partial drain and refill will be performed to lower the CYA. We will then retest the CYA. If necessary, additional partial drains and refills may be required until the CYA is below 50 ppm. The ideal level is 30 ppm to maximize chlorine effectiveness and reduce CYA’s impact on alkalinity and pH.
8. Access Conditions
- The property must have easy access to the pool area, if there is a fence we must have access through a gate in the fence. Premier does not offer a specific time of day for service visits.
9. Exceptional Scenarios
- If a pool requires care beyond the standard level — such as being larger than 20x40 feet, exceeding 35,000 gallons, experiencing heavy usage, or having significant foliage coverage, among other causes — a customized quote may be needed, along with potential equipment upgrades.
