Arctic Spa Classic & Core Series Filter Descriptions

Arctic Spa Classic & Core Series Filter Descriptions

Pleated Filters:

Pleated paper is wrapped around a plastic shell so that the surface area of the filter increases and holds many sediments. Traditional pleated filters will filter down to 10-20 microns, usually needing a clarifier to catch sediment smaller than 10-20 microns. These filters, if cleaned regularly, can last up to a year and a half.

Disposable Filters:

The Silver Sentinel Filter utilizes a thick filter medial to capture the particles inside the filter not just on the outside.  This filter will filter down to 1 and is completely maintenance free.  Just install it and forget about it, then every three months just replace it.

Short Filters:

Same concept as the traditional pleated filters except the size. These are intended to be used with a rescue bag upon initial fill.

Rescue Bag:

This filter looks like a bag and attaches to the underside of the weir. Its purpose is to catch small particles on the initial fill and is meant to be taken out within the first 48-72 hours

Filter Weirs:

Black plastic canisters that go over the spa filter and protect it from large incoming debris. These weirs not only protect, but also indicate to you when the filters/rescue bags need replacing. When pump 1 is running during circulation, the weirs should pull down below the surface of the water. One will suck down completely, while the other bobs close to the water’s surface. If the weirs ever float above the surface while pump one is on, most likely the filters need to be cleaned or replaced.

Classic Series Filter Cartridge Removal and Installation

1. Press "Settings" key (Three vertical lines in top-left corner of topside spa control) to enter spa settings, use plus/minus keys to scroll down to "Standby" option to put spa in Standby mode.

2. Remove the telescoping filter cylinder/floating weir.

3. Unscrew the filter cartridge and either clean the reusable filter or discard the disposable filter.

4. Install the clean or new filter.

5. Slide the telescoping filter cylinder back into the filter bucket.

6. "HL" or "FLO" Error: The filters are most likely dirty, to confirm, take filters out of spa & reset spa breaker, if HL or FLO clears then the filter needs to be cleaned or replaced.

Important: You can use either disposable or reusable filters in your spa, or one of each. Replace disposable Silver Sentinel filters (Gray Ends) each time you do a drain, clean & refill. Reusable filters (Blue Ends) need to be rinsed weekly & cleaned with a filter cleaner when drain, clean refill is done on the spa. Replace reusable filters annually. You can also use Rescue Bags to clean up your spa after filling or after heavy usage/when the spa is cloudy, ask any Premier Pools employee for a demonstration!
