The Raypak 106A is a small atmospheric gas heater made for above-ground pools and spas, with an input of 105,000 BTU per hour. Item 014781 burns propane and is the version for sites from sea level to 1,999 ft. It is the analog model in the Above Ground series: you set it with an on/off switch and a thermostat dial, and it comes with a 120 V power cord and a stackless top for outdoor use.

• Elevation: this item is the 0 to 1,999 ft version. Raypak lists item 014782 for 2,000 to 3,999 ft and separate item numbers for higher sites.
• Outdoor installation as shipped, using the stackless top. Indoor installation needs Raypak drafthood kit 014357 and a vent to the outside.
• Pump flow between 20 and 70 GPM. Above 70 GPM Raypak requires an external bypass valve.
• Raypak states the Above Ground series cannot be sold in Low NOx markets, including Southern California and Utah.

📌 Good to know:

• Raypak warns against supplying this heater from 5, 10 or 20 gallon propane cylinders of the kind used on barbecue grills.
• The 106A is not equipped for remote operation; in this series only the digital 156A is.
• The heater must sit at least 5 ft from the inside wall of the pool unless a solid fence, wall or other permanent barrier separates them.
• It can be installed on combustible flooring, but not on carpet.

• Raypak reduces the input 4% for each 1,000 ft above sea level when the heater is installed above 2,000 ft, so order the version built for your elevation.
• Converting to natural gas takes Raypak kit 014918F and must be done by a qualified agency. For sites above 2,000 ft Raypak says to consult the factory.
