The Raypak Digital 206A is the smallest heater in the residential Digital series, rated at 199,500 BTU per hour. This item is the propane version, with a copper fin-tube heat exchanger, polymer headers, electronic ignition and a digital thermostat with an LCD display. It is built for installations from sea level to 2,000 ft.

✅ Made for:

• Fuel: propane only. The natural gas 206A for the same elevation is a different item number (009216).
• Elevation: sea level to 2,000 ft (burner orifice #57). Raypak lists separate propane 206A items with #58, #59 and #60 orifices for higher elevations (009228, 009232, 009236).
• Outdoor installation as shipped, using the stackless top packed with the heater. Indoor installation needs Raypak indoor stack kit 009838 and a vent to the outside.
• Pump flow between 20 and 100 GPM. Above 100 GPM Raypak calls for an external bypass valve.

📌 Good to know:

• Raypak's rated input applies up to 2,000 ft. Above that the manual reduces input 4% for each 1,000 ft above sea level, and Raypak sells separate versions of this heater for higher elevations.
• This is an atmospheric heater, not a Low NOx model. Raypak's Low NOx Digital heaters are the 207A to 407A models, and Raypak notes that some states and localities require Low NOx heaters.
• Propane is heavier than air and can collect in low or confined areas; Raypak calls for extra care when lighting propane heaters.
• The ProTek Shield is a wear item. Raypak says to replace it when its weight has dropped to about 40% of the original.
• Salt chlorinators and chemical feeders must be plumbed downstream of the heater. Raypak's water chemistry table allows up to 4,500 ppm salt.
• Gas, venting and electrical work must be done by a qualified installer or service agency. Raypak's warranty applies to heaters installed by a licensed service provider.
