Raypak 009838 Indoor Stack Kit, 6" Vent
Part # 009838 | Genuine Raypak accessory | For 206A and 207A pool and spa heaters installed indoors
This is the indoor drafthood for Raypak 206A and 207A gas pool and spa heaters; Raypak's manuals call it the indoor stack kit. It connects the heater to a vent pipe so the flue gases are carried out of the building. These heaters come with the outdoor stackless top only and Raypak lists the indoor stack as optional equipment, so an indoor installation needs this kit ordered separately.
✅ Fits these Raypak models:
- Raypak 206A digital (electronic ignition) heaters
- Raypak 207A digital Low NOx heaters (Raypak dates the residential 207A to 2004 through 2023)
- Raypak 206A millivolt heaters (built 2004 to 2020)
- Other cabinet sizes take a different kit: 009839 for the 266A, 267A and 268A, 009840 for the 336A and 337A, 009841 for the 406A, 407A and 408A
- Not for the earlier RP2100 heaters (R185A and R185B, built 1998 to 2004): Raypak lists indoor stack kit 006696 for those
🔧 Details:
- In the box, per Raypak: 1 unpainted drafthood, 1 adapter plate, 3 mounting brackets (clips), 3 screws and the instructions
- Vent outlet (flue) diameter: 6 in. (152 mm)
- Overall height with the indoor drafthood in Raypak's dimension tables: 61-5/8 in. (1565 mm) on the 206A, 55-5/8 in. (1413 mm) on the 207A
- Drafthood shipping weight listed by Raypak: 14 lb (6.4 kg)
- Raypak's contents list for the kit has no vent pipe or vent cap
📌 Good to know:
- Raypak calls for a Category I vent on the drafthood, recommends Type B double-wall pipe the same size as the drafthood outlet, and requires at least 5 ft of vertical vent above the outlet.
- An indoor heater also needs combustion and ventilation air openings; the heater manual gives the minimum sizes.
- Where the vent has to run through a side wall, Raypak offers the D-2 Power Vent for electronic-ignition heaters instead of this drafthood (kit 009832 or 010744 for this size).
- Venting a gas heater is work for a qualified installer, following the heater manual and local code.
