This is the 140°F automatic-reset high limit that screws into one of the heater's water headers. It opens and shuts the burners down if the water overheats, and resets by itself once the water cools. Raypak identifies it by its black epoxy and lists it next to the 135°F limit (600892B, red epoxy) on the heaters below.

🔧 Details:

• Automatic reset, 140°F, black epoxy. The 135°F limit used alongside it is 600892B (red epoxy).
• Raypak's parts-library photo shows a brass threaded switch with two spade terminals, supplied with a wire lead.
• Raypak's parts library lists it as a high limit kit, 140°F, auto reset.

📌 Good to know:

• Raypak shows surface-mount limits instead for polymer-header and bronze-header 206A to 406A heaters (006725F, plus 018304F on bronze ASME headers); the cast-iron Versa 105B lists 006725F only.
• Versa 055A, 055B and Spa-Pak 053A, 053B use a different 140°F limit, 600890B.
• Raypak's manuals note that an erratic high limit is often a sign of a heat exchanger problem such as scale build-up or a defective bypass.
• Safety controls should be replaced by a qualified service technician.
