This is the combination gas valve Raypak lists for the propane versions of the 106A (105,000 BTU) and 156A (150,000 BTU) above-ground pool and spa heaters. It mounts on the burner tray and supplies gas to both the pilot and the main burners. The heater opens the main valve only after the pilot flame has been proven.

• Raypak 106A, propane (P-R106A-AP-C), 105,000 BTU analog model
• Raypak 156A, propane (P-R156A-EP-C), 150,000 BTU digital model
• Not for natural gas 106A or 156A heaters, which use valve 014867F

🔧 Details:

• Raypak parts list name: Combination Valve Pro., callout 1-G
• One part number covers both the 106A and the 156A
• 24 VAC valve: the heater manual's check is 24 VAC between the PV and MV/PV terminals
• Propane pressures given in the heater manual: 10 in. W.C. at the manifold, 11 in. W.C. minimum inlet with the heater running, 13 in. W.C. maximum inlet with the heater off
• The heater's gas connection is 1/2 in. NPT

📌 Good to know:

• Gas valve replacement and gas pressure checks are work for a qualified gas technician.
• This valve on its own does not convert a natural gas heater to propane. Raypak lists separate natural-to-propane conversion kits for these heaters with copper heat exchangers (014914F for the 106A, 014915F for the 156A) and states that gas conversions are to be done only by a qualified agency.
• Raypak also lists complete propane burner trays with the gas valve already fitted (sea-level versions): 014853F for the 106A and 014854F for the 156A.
