The sensor adapter is the fitting on the heater's water header that takes the water temperature sensor on Raypak heaters with electronic ignition. In Raypak's 206A to 406A manual the sensor is taken out by loosening a compression fitting nut at the in/out header. Millivolt versions of these heater lines do not use this part; their parts lists give a sensor well (006805F) instead.

📌 Good to know:

• On the 206A to 406A and 207A to 407A, ASME units with bronze headers list a sensor well (003765F) and no sensor adapter.
• Raypak's instruction for refitting the temperature sensor on the 206A to 406A: insert it into the compression fitting until it is flush with the top of the fitting, tighten half a turn past hand-tight, then run water through the heater and check for leaks.
