This is the Raypak Digital 336A with a cupronickel fin-tube heat exchanger in place of the standard copper one. It is an atmospheric gas heater for pools and spas, and in this cupronickel version Raypak rates it at 300,000 BTU per hour, not the 332,500 of the copper 336A. Item 014952 burns propane, is built for sites from sea level to 2,000 ft and has electronic ignition and a digital thermostat with an LCD.

✅ Made for:

• Fuel: propane only. The natural gas cupronickel 336A is a different item number (014940).
• Elevation: sea level to 2,000 ft. Raypak lists other versions of this model with different burner orifices, so ask before ordering for an installation above 2,000 ft.
• Outdoor installation as shipped, using the stackless top packed with the heater. Indoor installation needs Raypak indoor stack kit 009840 and a vent to the outside, or the D-2 power vent kit (010745 for 120 V, 009833 for 240 V).
• Pump flow between 35 and 100 GPM. Above 100 GPM Raypak calls for an external bypass valve.

• Cupronickel fin-tube heat exchanger (the X in the model number) with polymer headers. A ProTek Shield sacrificial assembly under the inlet connection protects the heat exchanger from galvanic corrosion.

📌 Good to know:

• Replacement heat exchangers and tube bundles for this heater must be the cupronickel versions. Raypak states that copper and cupronickel parts are not interchangeable.
• Raypak rates the input for elevations up to 2,000 ft and reduces it 4% for each 1,000 ft above sea level beyond that, so order the version built for your elevation.
• The ProTek Shield is a wear item. Raypak says to replace it when its weight has dropped to about 40% of the original.
• Salt chlorinators and chemical feeders must be plumbed downstream of the heater. Raypak's water chemistry table allows up to 4,500 ppm salt.
• Gas, venting and electrical work must be done by a qualified installer or service agency. Raypak's warranty applies to heaters installed by a licensed service provider.
