FAQ: Robotic Pool Cleaners

Are robotic cleaners better than suction or pressure cleaners?

In most pools, yes. A robotic cleaner runs on its own low-voltage power supply, so it doesn't depend on your pump or filter, uses far less energy, and filters the water through its own fine canister as it cleans.

How often should I run my robot?

Most pools do well with 2 to 3 cleanings per week. Pools under trees or with heavy pollen may need it daily during the worst stretches.

Corded or cordless, which is better?

Corded units offer longer runtimes and stronger, more consistent power. Cordless models trade some of that for convenience: nothing to tangle, nothing on the deck. If your pool is large or gets heavy debris, lean corded. If you mainly want easy maintenance on a modest pool, cordless is hard to beat.
