Dolphin LIBERTY 400 at a glance
The LIBERTY 400 is the LIBERTY 300 plus app control. It's the same compact cordless Dolphin with magnetic inductive charging and Click-Up retrieval, but the MyDolphin Plus app adds an Ultra Clean program, extra Eco Mode schedules and a notification when the cycle ends. It also carries a 3-year warranty instead of 2.

Most of what ends up on your pool floor starts out floating: leaves, pollen, bugs and dust. The Betta SE Plus solar robotic skimmer patrols the surface all day on solar power and catches that debris before it sinks. With the surface handled, the LIBERTY 400 has less to pick up, its filter basket fills more slowly, and you won't need to run (or charge) it as often. Both units are cordless, so there's no cable for the robot to tangle with while they share the pool.

Charging & battery: what to expect
The most common surprise with any cordless robot: one charge = one regular cleaning cycle. It isn't charged once a week like a phone. After a regular cycle, take it out, rinse the filter basket, and set it on the charger. A full charge takes up to 6 hours. The exception is Eco Mode (below), which spreads one charge over a week of short floor-only cleans.

Minnesota owners: temperatures that matter
- Operating water temperature: 43°F to 95°F, so it can start earlier in a cold May than many robots.
- Charging temperature: 43°F to 95°F. On cold spring and fall nights, charge it in the garage, not on the deck.
- Off-season: bring it indoors at half charge (see storage above); don't leave it in a hot shed or a freezing one.
Water chemistry limits
Per the Maytronics manual: chlorine up to 4 ppm, pH 7.0–7.8, salt up to 5,000 ppm. It's fine in typical saltwater pools; keep it out of the water during a shock treatment until chlorine is back below 4 ppm.

Care after each use
- Hose out the filter basket right after you lift the robot out, before debris dries and hardens.
- Once a month, take the ultra-fine panels apart and rinse them.
- Now and then, use the included tool to clear hair and debris from the impeller.
Common questions
How often do I need to charge it?
After every regular cycle. The only time it goes a week between charges is on an Eco Mode schedule, which cleans the floor only.
Can it clean my pool right after opening in the spring?
Yes, but plan on several regular cycles over a few days, not one, and rinse the basket and recharge between runs.
What does the 400 add over the 300?
The MyDolphin Plus app (program choice, Ultra Clean, more Eco schedules, end-of-cycle notifications) and a 3-year warranty instead of 2. Cleaning hardware, battery and pool size are the same.
Will it work in an above-ground pool?
Yes. Maytronics rates the LIBERTY 400 for in-ground and above-ground pools at least 1 ft deep.
